McCrabb Vapor Process Ethanol Plant Construction Milestones 9-Month Completion Schedule 7M Gallon "Pilot Plant"
The objective is to build a 7-million gallon ethanol plant that can be used to demonstrate the McCrabb Vapor System. This plant can be expanded later to 100M gallons. This plant can be operational in nine months (assuming the plant can be enclosed prior to the winter freeze). Day 1 Obtain $10M Financing to build a 7-million gallon plant; Day 15 Finalize site selection - 40-acre Farm in W. Iowa - takes advantage of corn supply and savings in freight costs; 30 acres next to grain elevator; 70 acres in West Liberty, Iowa next to rail siding; Day 45 - Obtain permits, licenses (ATF) and approvals (EPA); Day 45 - Day 180 Construct and assemble equipment Hoop Building Processing equipment (inside the plant): a. Slurry tanks b. 50,000 gallon fermentation tanks (4) c. McCrabb Process Machines "Outside" equipment d. 30,000 bushel Grain storage bin (not needed if next to a grain elevator) e. 160,000 gallon Ethanol storage tanks (2) f. 180-ton DDG ("Protein") storage tanks (4) Build Infrastructure: g. Access roads; h. EPA-required retaining walls; Day 90 Obtain contracts for purchase of corn and sale of Ethanol and DDG Day 181 - Day 210 Assemble and test equipment Complete assembly of all equipment; Complete electrical work; Test and debug; Day 211 - Begin Partial Production and system testing: Goal is 70% efficiency for the first two months (all output will be saleable); Work out bugs and maximize efficiency; Obtain 85% - 90% efficiency (realistic maximum) by January 1, 2008 Day 270 – ongoing: Earn $9,082,525/year ($1.30 per gallon @ EBIDA level) and develop accurate cost data for institutional lenders and investors; Future: Expand existing plant (no maximum). |
